Membership Information 

Organization

The Alliance was founded in January of 1996 with the expectation that the rapid growth in the number of women’s business and professional associations in recent years created a need for an umbrella organization.  We now have 44 member organizations representing over 25,000 business and professional women.  Our goal is to increase communications and joint efforts among these groups while leaving each member association free to fulfill its own unique role.

The Alliance has an Executive Committee and a board composed of the president and a voting representative from each member association. Its committees include Membership, Public Policy, Web Site Development, Special Events, and MassGAP.

Goals

v     To set and implement an annual agenda of key initiatives by alliance members.

v     To communicate information of mutual interest to our group.

v     To partner with other organizations to leverage and support women’s business issues.

Benefits

v     Greater reach and visibility for member organizations through combined efforts.

v     Web site providing joint calendar and cross-organizational links.

v     Information-sharing between organizations on topics such as increasing membership, internal and external communications, fund-raising, etc.

v     Directory of member organizations with key information and contacts.

Activities and Events

v     President’s Dinner annually

v     Networking events

v     Special events have included programs on Women in the Media, Defining Economic and Political Power, MassGAP.

v     Board meetings every other month.

Criteria

All business and professional associations with an interest in promoting women’s interests are welcome and encouraged to join.

Cost

Dues are $175 per organization payable January 1^st of each year for organizations with over 100 in membership.  Less than 100 members, organizations’ dues are $125.
